Generate and edit images with JollyDeck AI

Creating visuals for your learning content doesn’t have to mean searching through image libraries or using external design tools.

With JollyDeck AI, you can generate images from text descriptions and edit existing visuals directly in the Content Editor.

Generating images with AI

To create an image for your course:

1. Open your course in the Content Editor.
2. Add a new image element to your slide and select Generate with AI.
3. Describe the image you’d like to create. 
   Be specific about the subject, setting, composition and any important details. You can use AI to enhance your description or follow the linked prompt-writing guide for tips.
4. Click Set image style and choose from the available examples.
   This helps you maintain a consistent visual style across all AI-generated images in your course.
5. Select your preferred image aspect ratio.
   Consider where the image will appear on your slide. A wide image may work better as a banner, while a square or portrait format may suit a smaller visual element.
6. Click Generate.
7. Preview the result.
   You can crop the image, refine it with AI or adjust your original description and generate a new version.
   
8. Once you’re happy with the result, add the image to your course.

Editing images with AI

You don’t always need to generate a completely new image. With Edit with AI, you can modify existing visuals while keeping the elements you want to preserve.

For example, you can remove unwanted objects, replace a background, adjust specific details or adapt an image to better suit your learning scenario.

You can edit any image in your course, whether you’ve uploaded it yourself, generated it with AI or selected it from the image gallery.

1. Double-click the image in the Content Editor to open the editing window.
2. Select the Edit with AI tab.
3. Describe what you’d like to change. For best results, be specific about the adjustment you want.
4. Select your preferred image aspect ratio.
5. Click Generate.
6. Preview the result. You can crop it, provide additional instructions to refine it further or try a different approach.
7. Once you’re happy with the result, add the edited image to your course.

Reusing your AI-generated and edited images

All images you generate or edit with AI are automatically saved in your project’s gallery.

This means you can return to them later, reuse them on other slides or make further adjustments with AI without having to start from scratch.
