I’m a huge fan of the movie The Matrix.
And I often find myself in a situation that resembles the scene with the pills.
Two pills symbolise a decision between two options. At first glance, one looks appealing and the other looks risky. But on second thought, it gets more complicated.
Here’s a classic dilemma about using AI in content generation for e-learning.
Artificial intelligence can definitely put together learning content in a matter of seconds.
Who could say no to such a proposition?
On the other hand, such instant content could be generic at best. Isn’t this really what we’re trying to avoid at all costs?
Doesn’t it make more sense to work together with AI to build tailor-made learning content that fits the exact purpose? Of course, this would require significantly more effort and time, but the end result would be so much better!
One thing is for sure: creating learning content from scratch was never a sustainable business. We’ve been cutting corners and searching for shortcuts for years.
Now that we finally have a viable solution to the problem, we might be overly excited and make the wrong decision.
